Ink on Leather
There are 2 things to remember when considering this common problem.
If you combine i) and ii) you will realise that ink on leather is a problem that needs to be addressed asap.
Only use products designated for use on leather. Other products (hairspray is a favourite) have the potential to damagie the leather finish as well as leaving the ink mark just as it was.
Products required are LTT Leather Shampoo and LTT Ink Stick. Use LTT Leather Shampoo as the general cleaning instructions indicate. In most cases it is unlikely to remove all the ink but it will remove surface residues preventing them from absorbing into the surface.
If any ink remains apply product from the Ink Stick over the area of ink and massage into the leather using your finger to get product into the grain pattern. Leave for 30 seconds and then remove residues with paper towel. If this process has reduced the ink repeat until the ink disappears or the process stops having an affect.
At all stages in this process it is important not to use aggressive rubbing actions as this will only damage the surface. If the product will not lift the ink then the problem will need more specialist attention. Please telephone us or contact one of our qualified technicians.
This process should be used with care on two-tone and antique leathers and should not be used on aniline style leathers.

Hi!
My LV bag has ink stains at the bottom. I understand that LV uses real leather that is very rich and so ink stains are even harder to remove. What do i do if the above method doesnt work? The ink has been there for quiete a few years now!
Thanks

I have a mustard color leather ottoman with a nubuck finish to it. I used some leather furniture cleaner and it did nothing, at the time the stain had been there for 24 hours. A couple days later the spots I tried to clean look wet, like it never dried from the cleaner. It is going on a month now, what should I use to remove the ink stains from leather with a nubuck finish??
